About Me
Creativity has been always been an important part of who I am; a necessity and my need to create art in varying forms has remained strong throughout my life. I have met wonderful people along my journey who have inspired me, shared their wisdom and taught me an abundance of skills for which I’m grateful for. Whilst some may describe me as an Artist, I view myself more as a Maker and when I make something, it takes time, it creates a calm in my soul and it fills me with contentment and joy.
My Story
My business came from a love of sewing clothes and quilts for my children when they were small. There is something rather special in being able to make something with your own hands and share with those you love and I can only hope that the person receiving the gift feels something positive also.
To hand make a garment is to stitch all the good bits of yourself into that garment and to wrap the wearer in the of your love of making it. To create a piece of Art is to share some of your soul, your light with those receiving it.
Be Gentle Be Fierce is a motto in our home, it is a lifestyle, a way of life and a way of being, we need both in order to be balanced. In a world so chaotic, we need more love, more kindness, but to also know when we need to stand fiercely. Be Gentle Be Fierce is my quiet inner wisdom, that I share with you through my clothing and through my art and I hope in some way, it resonates with others.
I make small batch, bespoke childrenswear, womenswear and homewares and my love of drawing feeds into my designs and some of the woodblocks that I use for printing fabrics. My garments are created for simplicity and give the wearer a sense of freedom and comfort and although these are not garments that follow fashion, they are in themselves timeless pieces made using natural fabrics that allow the skin to breathe.
